Bosoms Brimming with Exuberant Thoughts...

Nellai Meet 2010
On 30th Sunday 2010,
The Old Gold Good SIP Friends’ Family Meet was arranged
at Vijaaya Gardens, Tirunelveli.
It was a rare occasion for every SIP friends
to remember and recall the past glorious moments
stamped indelibly in their memories.
The Golden Hall was filled with different faces of different ages;
about 125 alumni from all corners of India and
also from Dubai congregated at 5 p.m.
with their bosoms brimming with exuberant thoughts.
Plenty of people were called through email and letters,
but the turn up was less.
Nevertheless all chairs were occupied and
our expectation was fulfilled.
Our most respected principals of
the past and the present and lecturers
gave their valuable presence and
honoured this meet.
Though it was the end of May and
the climate was still hot during day time,
at the evening we felt the gentle touch of breeze
across the happy mood.
The meeting started with an invocation
to the Almighty who brought all together
under one roof to chew over
the evergreen memories of the bygone days.
Mr. Sekar Sundaram (1981) extended his warm welcome
to everyone present there.
He observed that
this meet not only helped everyone
to share the innumerable joy
buried deep in their hearts
but also it was a priceless opportunity
to share the valuable experiences of our friends.
Mr. Anantha Ramakrishnan,
former Principal & correspondent,
showered his bountiful blessings
on the gathering and
put forth his everlasting wish to conduct
many such euphoric meets with
outnumbered alumni in the years to come.

He also overwhelmed that
this kind of meeting would have given him
more strength in his life.
Mr. Kalidasa Krishnaswamy,
Principal, SIP
asserted his desire to conduct such meet
in the Polytechnic Campus in future.
He also admired the arduous efforts
being taken by Mr. Jegarajan to convene and
conduct SIP Friends’ Meet in Chennai
as well as in Nellai every year.
The guest speaker Mr. Agilam Nas Jeyabalen
who is the Director of 'Agilam Institute of Foreign Trade'
(15, Karpaganagar 8th St., K.Pudur, Madurai)
gave an informative talk about the export business.
As he is a motivator and mentor for many to do export business,
his lecture was very much valuable for our people
who had a desire to do export.
He also encouraged us to attend his seminars
being conducted in various cities in India
which converted several people as an exporter.
The TOP 10 outstanding students of the outgoing students of our college
were honoured with cash award and certificates.

The first rank and second rank holders
in all dept received
Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 500/- as cash award and Certificate of Appreciation respectively.

On behalf of our SIP Friends Welfare trust, Mr. Anantha Ramakrishnan,
presented the Cash Awards and
Mr. Kalidasa Krishnaswamy,
presented the Certificate of Appreciation
to the meritorious candidates.

Mr. Meenakshi Sundaram (1979)
shared the memorable events
happened in the classroom.

Mr. Michael Raj (1981)
gave an inspiring speech on
why the Meet should be conducted in Nellai and
not anywhere else in Tamil Nadu.
His speech brought back the sweet and pleasant reminiscence in every one’s mind.

Mr. Jegarajan (1979) concluded the meeting with his words and
asked everyone to inform other friends to contribute and donate
atleast one rupee per day for the welfare of the SIP Friends welfare trust.
As usual well, Mr. Sekar Sundaram (1981) organized a delicious buffet dinner for all the participants.
Every one tasted not only the dinner but also chewed our memories with other friends.
The meet ended at 9.30 pm, made everyone to feel the filled stomach but experienced the empty heart
while saying ‘good bye – meet you next time’ to their old friends and gurus.
Ofcourse, it was our regular meets but made everyone to expect the next meet in Chennai and Nellai.
Every one dispersed with a jubilant heart bearing delightful memories of our college days.
As Reported by Mr. P. Madhavan (SPC) and Mr. G. Michael Raj (1981)
