A special stage was decorated and
a large ‘pandal’ was put up

with colourful lights and
beamed with halogen lamps.

The pandal was filled with
the old and present students and staff
who participated in the program with
much enthusiasm.

The programme came to an end at 5.00 pm with high tea.
The entire proceedings were recorded in video.

This is the first time in the history of our college that more than 152 numbers of old students from the first batch (1961) to the last out going batch were gathered under one roof.

Seeing all the old students and staff was a great opportunity for everyone who participated in the meet.

It was a nostalgic moment when the old friends and masters got together.
Eyes were filled with tears of happiness while seeing each other for the first time after they left the college.

Very old lecturers came and graced the occasion
with their presence despite their age.
Old students in turn showed their interest
to etch the moment forever in their hearts
by taking photographs with them and
chatted about those good old days.

Happiness radiated from all the faces of the students, the happy moments were not shown by mere words.

Everyone wanted more such days in the future..!

The College Management and
‘The Old Gold Good SIP Friends’ forum had been
planning to conduct this meeting
for one and half years and
now have made it a successful one.

The SIP Friends Welfare Trust took lot of efforts
for the Golden Jubilee.
Gave propaganda through the website
'www.sipfriends.org’.
Repeated emails to its alumni members and
sent about 1400 invitations by post.

In the midst of responsibilities and difficulties
our alumni friends honoured the invitation and
gave their valuable presence.
Though the functions were organized on week days
and in the busy time of the year,
many of our friends came from far and near areas
made the program a grand success.

It was a joyful occasion and this glorious function
which was a dream to become a reality was
because of the sincere efforts taken by
the committee who had organized it.

All the participants enjoyed
the Golden moments on that day and
those who couldn’t make it missed quite a lot.

On the whole,
it was a wonderful chance for everyone to remember the campus, class room, workshops, playgrounds, NCC, hostel, Sankar Nagar, etc.,

As our college is not situated on the main road,
many of the participants saw the campus
for the first time after decades.
They were completely taken away by
the new improvements and
were proud to have studied in the institution.

On behalf of ‘The Old Gold Good SIP Friends’,
we would like submit our heartfelt gratitude
to the management, old and new principals,
all HODs, lecturers, staff and all students of
our glorious Sankar Polytechnic College
for their valuable efforts to conduct this function
and make it a grand success…
